I took an internship with Refresh Your Media located in Berlin, MD. There I worked on a few projects that involved the creation of designs for merchandise such as clothing.
This Project was for a band called The Brothers Within a band located in Florida. They were looking for design that involved mandala like theme as well as a surreal look. Three designs were made. First a mermaid holding the world, second an alligator with a beach in its mouth, and third a sun set beach with a mandala sun.
For each design changes were made. For the mermaid the lines were redrawn to be more symmetrical while keeping the hand drawn look. colors were repainted using adobe Fresco as well as the lines. Face was added as well as a third eye. additional lines were added as well as a redesign of the mandala. the proportions were redrawn and the finish product colored in.
For the sun set additional background elements such as shells water lines and dolphins were removed.palm trees colored in and sand colored black. Logo is switched to black with a white outlines. The background mandala was removed to create a more simplistic visual.
The alligator was stretched out to have a full body, the placed in the center off set to the right. The log first green replaced with black. Beach setting in the mouth has been made more complex with color change to show a sun set theme.
